You can’t enter a hard hat zone without protective gears. It’s a must for every worker to wear protective clothing and accessories when entering a construction site; helmet and safety vests the two of the most common accessories worn by construction workers on site.

Aside from construction workers, railroad workers also wear hi visibility clothing when the tracks needs some fixing. Safety vests make them visible to other workers and train operators due to the reflective properties of the vests.

Policemen and bomb disposal units also wear hi visibility clothes especially when working in areas with poor lighting condition or during nighttime. In London, Metropolitan Police were seen wearing high-visibility clothes during the riot.

Campers and hunters are also advised to wear reflective clothing when hiking so they can easily be spotted by rescuers in case they got lost.

In Spain, however, hi-visibility clothing serves a rather different purpose for roadside workers such as prostitutes. There’s an ordinance that requires them girls to wear hi-vis clothing to minimize traffic accidents. Weird but true. At least you know you’re not dealing with a female officer.
